Functions Of The Parish Council

Allotments

The provision and maintenance of 15 allotment sites comprising a total of 300 plots including 7 grazing land sites.

Village Greens

Maintenance of village greens at Brandon Village, Browney Lane and Ushaw Moor.

Grass Cutting

Partnerships

Partnerships with Durham County Council and Durham City Council.

Roadside Seating

The provision of selected seats and benches throughout the Parish.

Floral Containers

The provision and maintenance of floral decorations and containers throughout the Parish.

War Memorials

The parish council is responsible for the maintenace of war memorials in Brandon Village, New Brancepeth and Ushaw Moor.

Planning Applications

The parish council is consulted on planning applications for development throughout the Parish area.

Annual Painting Competition

The parish council organises the annual painting competition for primary schools in the area.

Community Body Support

The parish council financially supports local schools and community organisations.
